Ms. Carolyn – Redwoods Teacher / Program Coordinator
Hi there, my name is Carolyn Beeman. My husband and I live in Livermore with our two beautiful boys. My family is my everything – my sons are amazing and I couldn’t ask for better children. My oldest was born in 2008 and my youngest was born in 2013. I knew as a young child that I wanted to work with children when I grew up, I was just never sure exactly what it was I wanted to do. During my junior year in high school, I was enrolled in a Regional Occupation Program class called Developmental Psychology of Children. From there, I went to a field site where I was quickly offered a full time position after graduating high school. I have been teaching since 2003 and couldn’t be happier with my career choice. Teaching young children is a passion of mine. I love the look on the children’s faces when they learn something new or when they achieve a goal. I believe in learning through play, dance, and songs. Learning should be fun, not forceful. I look forward to teaching your child and for teaching at The Learning Tree for many years to come.

Hello, my name is Jessica Beecher. I graduated with honors in 2011 from Las Positas College with an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Development. Throughout my time teaching, I have learned from different styles and curriculums and have formed my own teaching style. I enjoy being a part of a school that shares my passion for Early Childhood Education where I can utilize my skills as an educator. I am very excited to be a part of The Learning Tree family and I am looking forward to getting to know your child and being a part of their learning experience. Preschool
Ms. Laura – Mulberries Teacher / Program Coordinator
Hi! My name is Laura Lambert and I am so excited to be given the opportunity to teach at The Learning Tree! I was born and raised in Pleasanton and got my AA degree in General Education at Cuesta Community College in San Luis Obispo. I then graduated from Cal State East Bay in 2013 with a degree in Human Development, focusing on Early Childhood Development. I have been working with kids for as long as I can remember, starting with babysitting in my neighborhood when I was 14. My experience with children includes a wide variety of positions such as camp counselor, teacher aide, behavioral therapist, and after school care provider. I have taught preschool for three years and was lucky enough to have the opportunity to teach English to preschoolers in Italy for three months. I bring my positive attitude and creativity to work every day. I love learning new teaching styles and techniques and feel that I learn just as much from preschoolers as they are able to learn from their teachers! I love including books, nature, and physical activity to curriculum and feel that children learn in so many different ways. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, traveling, going to music shows (my favorite genre is country), and exploring what the bay area has to offer. I also love spending time with my family, friends, and boyfriend.

Ms. Casie – Mulberries Teacher / Gymnastics & Dance Instructor
Hello everyone! My name is Casie Peterson. I am so excited to become a part of The Learning Tree Preschool! Ever since I was little I have known I was going to work with children! I have explored many careers involving children; I have coached gymnastics, water sports, and soccer. I have been a camp counselor, taught children about animal care and maintenance, tutored, and not to mention I have been babysitting since I was 13 and a big sister to 3 baby siblings! In any extracurricular activity that I have pursued I have gotten the award of “Most Energetic” just about every time, therefore I hope that the children in my class will enjoy having a teacher with just as much energy as they have! I am still in the process of earning my degree at Diablo Valley College for Early Childhood Development. What I love about teaching is finding each child’s individual needs and figuring out how I can accommodate their unique styles of learning. As my experience and knowledge of working with children expands I learn more about myself every day, and I am anxious to watch myself grow as much as the children in my class. I may be just about as small as my students but I have always said that even if you’re little you can still accomplish big things! I look forward to bringing positive and fun lesson plans into my classroom and I feel as though The Learning Tree is the perfect place for me to do so!

Greetings Parents and Families, my name is Dawn Goebel and I am thrilled to be a Teacher at The Learning Tree. I graduated with honors in 2014 from Cuesta College with an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education. I moved to Livermore in 2015 from the central coast; I think it’s beautiful here up north. I have been working with young children for 5 years now and have enjoyed every minute of it! I want to engage children in their learning by being hands on with them as they discover and explore. I believe all children learn and see the world around them differently so I enjoy creating a leaning environment that is developmentally diverse and safe. I am looking forward to working with you and your children. In my free time I enjoy sewing and various arts/crafts. I have a passion for Geology and have a fun collection of rocks, crystals, and minerals.

Ms. Rachael – Sprouts Teacher Assistant
Hello everyone! My name is Rachael Deluca. I am an early graduate from Granada High school and I am a DECA alumni. I am currently taking classes at Las Positas College here in Livermore. In my free time, I love making all sorts of crafts, photography, going for walks with my adorable boxer named Zeus and I obsess over anything Disney. In the future, I want to be able to work with children in either the medical field or continue with a successful teaching career. I have been babysitting and working with children of all ages for the past six years and I couldn’t ask for a better way to spend my time! I’m constantly searching for new and exciting ways to experience life and trying to find new ways to make a positive impression on other people’s lives. I’ve found that the biggest impacts are made on the younger generation. At times, I feel like I learn more valuable life lessons from the minds of kids than I do sometimes from the lectures of my professors. With that all said, I am extremely excited to get to know all of the kids here at The Learning Tree as well as the parents!

Support Staff
Ms. Nicki – In-House Substitute Teacher / Support Staff
Hi! My name is Nicole Lamm. I am currently a student at Cal State University, East Bay working on my Bachelor’s degree then my teaching credential in Fall 2017. I have received an AA degree as well as my Early Childhood Development Associate Teaching Certificate from Las Positas College. I also spent a year and a half at Cal State University, Chico but came home to finish schooling and I am so glad I did! Now I have a wonderful opportunity to dip my toe in the world of teaching before I finish my credentials! I am thrilled to work at The Learning Tree and I adore the preschool ages. My ultimate goal is to be a kindergarten teacher but overall the younger ages are my absolute favorite! I discovered I wanted to be a teacher a semester into my first year of college when I had to observe a preschool environment for a class. I told my mom I was changing my career path and she was ecstatic! She told me she was waiting for me to come to this realization and that she always knew I was meant to work with children. I have worked with children in many different ways and environments throughout my life from camp counseling to being a gymnastics instructor to babysitting to volunteering in preschool and elementary school settings. I am a strong advocate for play and communication between teacher and student as well as teacher and parent. I believe we cannot expect a child to listen or to learn without helping them understand the reason why. Working with children is such a wonderful thing, I believe it helps adults grow almost as much as it helps the children. There is nothing more incredible than seeing excitement and wonder light up a child’s face!
